Tott was a career soldier and was proud of his choice. However, his personal opinion about the war between the Republic and the Sith Empire was not very patriotic - he thought that the war was not between the citizens of the two states, but between the Jedi and the Sith. In his opinion, the Sith attacked the Republic because of their hatred of the Jedi, and innocent citizens were caught between two fighting armies. He blamed the Jedi, thinking that the war was their fault and that they didn't have what it took to end the conflict, talking too much and doing too little.
